So you’ve spend a long day hiking all the trails and seeing the beautiful sights Taroko National Park has to offer, and you’re starving! Luckily, there’s no shortage of places to eat in Hualien. Be it traditional Taiwanese food, Thai food, sushi, steaks, or even American style barbecue, Here are some of delicious foods/restaurants in Hualien:
The youngest restaurant on our list, The Moose Bar and Grill opened in late 2016 but quickly gained a following for its simple, yet incredibly delicious dishes. One of their best selling (and best tasting!) dishes is their fish and chips. With the perfectly crisp, golden brown beer batter shell, hearty pieces of fish, homemade tartar sauce, and a bed of salty and savory thick-cut fries, this classic English dish has found its home in the heart of the Taiwanese countryside. If steaks are more your style, the Moose also offers US-imported cuts of sirloin or ribeye, along with a choice of New Zealand lamb chops. If you’re in a large group (or just feeling particularly hungry), call ahead to order the 60oz tomahawk steak, carved at the table by the chef himself! For the non-meat eaters, there is also a selection of fresh-baked 10” pizzas to choose from. Of course, the “Bar” in “Moose Bar and Grill” isn’t just a name. While the bar is fully-stocked, with a selection of many different types of alcohols that suit ones tastebuds, the crown jewel is their whiskey selection. With its large collection backed by its head chef’s knowledge, if you like whiskey, you’re sure to like what the Moose has to offer!

For drinks, choose from a selection of imported American craft beers, or various cocktails and hard liquors. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a slice of apple pie or cheesecake.
